Bridging classrooms and industry: Mixer’s education projects

For the 2024–25 school year, Mixer S.p.A. renewed its commitment to the world of education, strengthening the connection between schools and industry through structured and continuously evolving educational projects. In addition to its well-established collaboration with ITIS Nullo Baldini in Ravenna, this year a new initiative was launched with the Polo Professionale in Lugo, further expanding the scope and educational value of its activities.

Mixer’s Education project involved nearly 200 students across ten classes, with eight company visits and numerous in-class meetings. While the activities were concentrated between late January and mid-May, the planning and coordination work spanned the entire school year, in constant dialogue with teachers and schools.

Mixer and ITIS Baldini: a renewed journey

Now in its fifth edition, the collaboration with ITIS Nullo Baldini in Ravenna engaged students from the Chemistry and Computer Science courses in diverse projects tailored to their specific curricula.

The Chemistry course project

For the Chemistry course, students in the final three years participated in classroom sessions and company visits. Third-year students attended a classroom meeting shaped around their own questions, which guided an open dialogue with the CEO, the HR Manager, and Communication and Marketing Manager.

Fourth- and fifth-year students visited Mixer’s production site, welcomed by the lab and plant teams, with focused insights on technical topics aligned with their school program. Additionally, a themed classroom session was organized for fifth-year students to consolidate knowledge and encourage the integration of theory and practice.

At the end of the program, Mixer awarded a scholarship to three Chemistry students who excelled in their core subjects and English: Federico Alpi, Suna Bolat, and Sara Ravaioli. While awaiting the award ceremony in the fall, the winners had the opportunity to spend a day in the company’s labs this summer, staying alongside the technical team.

The award ceremony took place on October 11, 2025, with Dr. Andrea Galanti, CEO of Mixer, and the school principal, Professor Antonio Grimaldi. The event was also attended by Federica Battistini, HR Manager, and Greta Faccani, Communication and Marketing Manager, who joined in celebrating the students’ achievements.

The Computer Science Track Project

For the Computer Science corse, the project included three company visits led by staff from the automation, programming, and IT departments. These were complemented by the “Idee in Costruzioni” workshop, designed and optimized in-house by Mixer. Using colorful building blocks and hands-on activities, the workshop illustrates the evolution of a manufacturing company from craftsmanship to industrial organization. This experience, aimed at fostering critical thinking and teamwork, was met with great enthusiasm by both students and teachers.

A New Experience with the Polo Professionale in Lugo

In 2024–25, Mixer also launched a new collaboration with the Polo Professionale in Lugo, involving a fourth-year class from the “Civil and Industrial Technical Systems and Services” program. The project included two phases: a guided tour of the production site with the Plant Director and technical staff, followed by a classroom activity where students analyzed three real-world maintenance cases and proposed operational solutions.

A collective commitment behind every step

Behind the success of these educational initiatives lies the dedication of many individuals—both those directly involved and those who supported the projects behind the scenes. We extend our sincere thanks to all the teams who contributed their time, expertise, and enthusiasm. Their commitment played an important role in transforming each activity into a meaningful and inspiring experience for the students. It is through this shared effort that we continue to build bridges between education and the world of work.

Ongoing dialogue with schools

The relationship with schools is continuous, beginning in the planning phase and continuing through the implementation and final evaluation stages. This ongoing dialogue allows for the creation of tailored programs that meet students’ needs and align with their educational goals. We strongly believe in the value of these experiences, which enrich not only the students but also the company professionals who have the privilege of supporting young people on their journey of growth.
